Word of the month: Real, the month of January made this whole journey to my first half Ironman real. Real excitement and real nerves :)
Jamming out to: Dan Croll, From Nowhere and The Naked and Famous, Punching in a Dream
Sleeping: Vacillating between restful and restless sleep with no reason that I can find. I have generally been more tired and find myself feeling sleepy by 8:30 every night.
Reading: Still Dust the final book in the Silo series and Into Thick Air
Craving: Sweets, but I have been more serious about my eating this month. I've been trying to limit my sweets to fruit, health food (ie. granolas/yogurt), and dark chocolate squares
Nutrition: On my long rides I've been taking with me a bottle of Scratch Labs (raspberry) and eating half of a protein/sports bar. On my long runs I've just been taking water.
Feeling:
Swim- awkward. I realized after swimming with my dad this month that my elbow (instead of my hand) is the first thing to enter the water which is totally wrong so I've been adjusting my stroke and it feels super awkward.
Bike- anxious. I'll be talking a lot more about this on Wednesday's post.
Run- joy. This has been my happy place sport. I have been enjoying my 1 hour and 30 minute runs.
High- Running for an hour and a half for the first time!
Low- Realizing that I have some emotional wounds that have yet to heal from my dog chase/bike wreck.
